Fox Film Corp Exhibitor Book 1931-1932 P.O.A.
Fox Film Corporation Exhibitor’s Book (Fox, 1931 – 1932). Exhibitor’s Book (9.5″ x 12.25″). This terrific Fox ‘Campaign Book’ has a lot to offer in 56 pages. If you’re a ‘Charlie Chan’ collector, tell us if you’ve seen anything finer than the full-page atmospheric art spread for his upcoming two films! Will Rogers, Janet Gaynor, and others are here in absolutely beautiful renderings. Note that many of these books were printed far ahead of time announcing films that ultimately were never made for one reason or another. Look at the terrific spread for “Swindle” which was to star Spencer Tracy and a young Humphrey Bogart! Also of note is the stunning spread for “Bad Girl”…”…a red-lipped shop-girl in a sleazy dress..” Definitely ‘pre-code’. We believe it’s the first time a major film used that in the title, with Frank Borzage winning an Oscar for Best Director to boot!
