French surrealist and screen-poet Jean Cocteau explored fantasies within most of his films such as Orphée and La Belle et la Bette. With Orphée, he took on the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice as Orpheus has to enter the Underworld and persuade the King of Death to restore the departed Eurydice to life.
